John Wesley Commentary
At a Glance

What It Contains
Wesley offers short practical and theological notes intended for ordinary readers. The work is useful for seeing how an influential Methodist teacher approached Scripture and spiritual exhortation.
Orthodox Use and Caution
Wesley’s piety and moral seriousness do not make his theological system Orthodox. His approach to grace, assurance, sanctification, sacraments, and ecclesial authority belongs to the Methodist tradition. Read him as a historical interlocutor and compare important claims with Orthodox dogmatic and ascetical sources.
